Any additional feedback? The more you tell us the more we can help. Can you help us improve? Resolved my issue. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. I know it is easy to edit and remove something but we are here serious people and this is a real print screen - I have only Exchange account somehow added.
I did that many weeks ago as you know Windows 8 RTM released in early August, August 9 to be exact and I dod remember that somehow I got a screen that allowed me to skip connection to Microsoft.
I do not want to remove this configuration as I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to re-create this success. Anyway, the issue still there, and I still want to know how we can skip connection to Microsoft account. All I need is to add corporate Exchange mail. But nobody said that this is an Outlook replacement, this APP is great for checking mail and quick reply or create new mail, just like from smartphone or iPad. ActiveSync works great, you get push mail notification, and it does what it supposed to do.
Well, that's true about MAIL app in terms of features, but please try to understand one simple thing: Outlook is not good for touch interface.
Another example: when manager on the go all he needs is to check e-mail, may be quick reply, and maybe send new e-mail. All this can be nicely done in MAIL app. In Outlook it is a disaster to use on the touch screen Tablet without a mouse, I hope you would agree with me on this. I'm still trying to find out how it will be possible to add only Exchange account. I'm OK if I need to add Microsoft first and then remove it, but the problem is that it does not allow removing only Hotmail account.
When you try to remove it, it will remove ALL accounts, because it is primary account. I'm also OK if I can find a registry tweak that can remove primary account and keep only Exchange account in place. ActiveSync works very nice, and touch experience is amazing. So far there is no replacement for MAIL app to connect to Exchange for touch user experience, except this stupid issue with extra account required. I fully agree that this is a killing feature.
Kills the purpose f having nice touch-enabled mail APP. For me it is even worse because we are blocking all WEB mail services so from internal network I cannot even sigh-in to Microsoft even if I have Microsoft account. One thing I did not try yet but I want to try - use corporate e-mail address to open new Microsoft account. It's ironic that Microsoft's approach to EAS in Windows 8 is less flexible and less user-friendly than what the licensed version lets the post-PC competitors do.
Keep up on key mobile developments and insights via Twitter and with the Mobilize newsletter. When Microsoft revealed its Office apps a few weeks ago and provided reviewers like myself loaner tablets to test it on, I couldn't get its Office client to work with my company's Exchange server. Nor was there any trouble connecting iPads and iPhones or any issues connecting Macs -- only on Windows 8 tablets and PCs. I thought it was another example of how Windows 8 doesn't get what it means to be a user-oriented device, but it turns out to be more complex.
